“Leaf Community” is the initiative, promoted by Loccioni
Group, to match the long-term sustainability of the
enterprise and of the territory, through the widest sharing
of targets and of resources.
Today more than ever, due to the difficulties that are troubling
enterprises and the whole Western economy in its totality, it has
become urgent to identify new models of sustainable development.
According to this vision it is interesting to analyse what is happening in
Marche, a region of Central Italy where, starting from the early postwar
period, they have developed an important industrial district
prevailingly formed by small and medium enterprises, strongly rooted
in the territory but in the technological forefront and oriented to
international experiences. Among these enterprises Loccioni Group
deserves special mentioning.
Loccioni Group, whose first activities date back to 1968, was created by
an extraordinary Marche entrepreneur: Enrico Loccioni. After
successfully developing measuring and control systems of the product
and process quality for the automotive and the household appliance
industry, afterwards Loccioni Group has diversified its activities into
several other intervention areas, in each of which it succeeded in
gaining a leadership position on a world scale.
The originality of this Group, progressively grown by number and sizes,
is today acknowledged by scholars of work organization. Enrico
Loccioni, in fact, since the beginning and adopting a broadminded
vision, has intended to develop an entrepreneurial model where work
and knowledge, together with technology and organization, are strictly
integrated one another to produce results simultaneously useful to the
enterprise, to collaborators and suppliers, to customers, to institutions
and the territory where the enterprise itself operates.
Today, when the most advanced Western enterprises have adopted the
Social Balance model and with the SA 8000 regulation it has become
possible to be certified in terms of business ethics, we might say that
Loccioni has been a forerunner of this same model, stating that Un modello socio-
