Recensione del ristorante Oggi sono stato al Vostro ristorante per pranzo perché un mio amico mi ha detto che è perfetto per un appuntamento romantico e volevo fare bella figura con la mia ragazza. Però il servizio era terribile, il cameriere non ha portato né l’acqua né il menù. Ho dovuto chiedere tante volte. Poi le patatine erano crude e il pollo era bruciato e molto salato. Inoltre, la forchetta era sporca e quando ne ho chiesto un’altra mi hanno portato un cucchiaio. Infine, il conto era altissimo. Anche se l’atmosfera non era romantica e ho fatto brutta figura, ho chiesto alla mia ragazza di sposarmi e ha detto di sì. Question 15 (10 marks) Read the text and then answer the questions that follow. Sospensione o meditazione? Le scuole di oggi sono troppo permissive con i ragazzi e continuano a perdere autorità? Il preside del Liceo Da Vinci ha comunicato a genitori e alunni il nuovo programma disciplinare che trasforma le punizioni tradizionali in un approccio più positivo e benevolo. Dall’anno prossimo in questa scuola gli alunni avranno una scelta. Invece delle solite detenzioni e sospensioni gli alunni che si comportano male o che non fanno i compiti, potranno scegliere come rimediare alle loro azioni negative. I ragazzi possono decidere di seguire un corso di yoga e di meditazione, dove imparano a calmarsi e a controllare le loro emozioni. Così imparano a pensare prima di agire. Oppure possono scegliere di aiutare nella manutenzione della scuola o assistere nell’organizzazione di vari eventi scolastici come gite e manifestazioni sportive. Secondo il preside i ragazzi non solo riflettono sulle loro azioni, ma imparano anche tante nuove cose, per esempio come pitturare un cancello o creare il programma per le gare di nuoto. Dice il Preside Fantozzi “I miei studenti devono riflettere su come essere una parte attiva e positiva della nostra comunità e essere responsabili. Devono capire che attraverso gli errori si impara e che le “punizioni” possono anche essere produttive ed utili. Spero che questi insegnamenti siano utili per tutta la vita”. Forse quest’idea cambierà come vediamo le punizioni. Ma gli adolescenti di oggi sono abbastanza maturi per capire il valore di questa iniziativa? Hanno davvero la mentalità giusta per apprezzare i benefici della meditazione o di come aiutare gli altri? Secondo me i metodi tradizionali per disciplinare gli studenti sono ancora validi. C’è bisogno di sostituirli completamente? Questa è una domanda importante che deve essere discussa. Question 15 continues on page 19 – 18 –
