WHAT IS SUBERITE
Suberite is an innovative cork-based product, a natural resource with
excellent insulating properties, elastic, atoxic and waterproof.
The cork, which represents 80% of the product, is amalgamated with
ecocompatible water-based resins and supplied in a semi-dense form,
ready for use. Stable over time, breathable, water-repellent, mould
resistant, cork has always been an important ally in the building sector but
only today have its properties been used to create a modern product, a
complete approved and certified system with a clear ecological vocation,
ideal also for green building.

waterproofing products, bitumen sheets and traditional thermal insulators,

Suberite uses the natural waterproofing properties of Suberina, inhibiting the passage of water and thus preventing
damage due to infiltration and protecting the support in the long term.
Limiting the formation of algae and mould, it ensures drier walls which therefore guarantee greater thermal efficien-
cy and improved structural stability.

WHAT DOES WATER REPELLENCY MEAN?
Water-repellent material helps water to run off its surface, which be-
comes hydrophobic: in fact, when a drop of water rests on its sur-
face, it forms a contact angle greater than 90°, causing immediate
run-off. Water-repellent material guarantees comfort and protection
from light rain, fog and snow on all surfaces. In the case of wall
coatings, i.e. in vertical situations, these materials are very similar to
waterproofing materials.

Il materiale idrorepellente (water repellent) facilita lo scorrimento dell’acqua sulla
propria superficie, che diventa idrofobica: infatti quando una goccia d’acqua vi si
posa sopra, forma un angolo di contatto superiore ai 90°, determinando così un
immediato scivolamento. Il materiale idrorepellente garantisce protezione e comfort
dalla pioggia, dalla nebbia e dalla neve su tutte le superfici. Nel caso di rivestimenti
a parete, cioè di una specifica casistica verticale, questi materiali si avvicinano molto
allo stato di impermeabilizzanti.
HOW DOES SUBERITE WORK?
Suberite cannot be attacked by condensation and humidity and mi-
nimizes the danger of mould on the walls, which apart from looking
bad can also cause health problems. It is therefore useful in particularly
damp environments - like bathrooms and kitchens, but also cellars and
external walls - in particular in places where the air has a very high hu-
midity content, or which are subject to fog and sea salt. The appearan-
ce of mould in these environments is very common and leads to rapid
deterioration. The application of Suberite can eliminate the problem
– on condition that the structure of the building is appropriately insula-
ted. Suberite is liquid-repellent by nature, and therefore automatically
self-cleaning, because dirt does not adhere to the surface or can in any
case be removed by simple washing; this means that the surface does
not become dull and it retains its durability in the long term.

minimizza il pericolo delle muffe sulle pareti, antiestetiche e soprattutto poco salubri.
E’ quindi utile in ambienti particolarmente umidi – come il bagno e la cucina, ma
anche per una cantina e per pareti esterne -, in particolare in località dove il tasso di
umidità nell’aria è molto alto, o pervase da nebbia e sale marino. La comparsa delle
muffe in questi ambienti è molto comune e crea un rapido degrado. L’applicazione di
Suberite può azzerare il problema – a patto che la struttura dell’edificio sia opportu-
namente isolata. Essendo per sua natura repellente ai liquidi, Suberite è automatica-

mente anche autopulente, perché lo sporco non aderisce alla superficie o comunque
si toglie con un semplice lavaggio, restando brillante e resistente nel tempo.

WHAT DOES BREATHABLE MEAN?
The breathability of a material is its capacity to be crossed by damp
air and is generally correlated with porosity. It is expressed by the
value μ, which indicates how many times the material in question
is less diffusive (breathable) than air, given the same thickness and
thermal conditions.

HOW DOES SUBERITE WORK?
An important characteristic, for a decorative finish, is the compromise between breathability and water-repellency.
The use of Suberite creates the effect of a surface membrane, which protects against infiltrations but allows the passage
of water vapour.
The product structure has a controlled porosity: the pore dimensions allow the water vapour to flow out but do not allow
the entry of water in the liquid form, since the liquid molecules are much larger than the water vapour molecules.

WHAT DOES ELASTICITY MEAN?
It is the ability of a material to deform, to varying extents, and then
reacquire its original shape, or remain unchanged when a stress, like
expansion or settlement, persists. Suberite is an elastomeric product
made of cork, which has good elastic capabilities, with the addition of
appropriate resins with a high degree of elasticity: this means it is able
to adapt to any traction or compression forces without breaking or
splitting, following the new forms of the supporting surface.

HOW DOES SUBERITE WORK?
Suberite has high elasticity and resistance, in addition to an exceptio-
nal capacity for adhesion to the support. Once applied, it creates an
elastic coating able to resist the movements of the wall and the relative
stress, withstanding temperature variations without deforming. Sube-
rite has excellent filling properties and can therefore cover cracks in
the plaster up to a thickness of 2 mm and ensure a uniform surface.
It is therefore the ideal product for creating a regular finish on exter-
nal and internal wall surfaces and for repairing plaster damaged by
cracks, crazing and deformations in general.

WHAT DOES SOUND ABSORPTION MEAN?
Sound absorption is the capacity of a material to absorb sound
energy. An element which is not only porous but also flexible in-
creases the dissipation of sound energy since its surface is caused
to vibrate.

HOW DOES SUBERITE WORK?
The job of a good sound absorbent material like Suberite is to reflect
and prevent the spread of sound waves. The commonest materials are
porous. All porous sound absorbent materials allow the penetration
of air (and therefore acoustic energy) within the material. With this
type of sound absorbent material, the quicker the movement of air
inside it, the more effective the sound absorption; maximum efficien-
cy is achieved when the thickness of the sound absorbent material is
equal to 1/4 of the wavelength of the incident sound. In fact, with a
porous material like Suberite, high and medium frequencies can be
very easily absorbed because they have a much shorter wavelength.

Due to the natural properties of Suberina, which is able to protect the support from sudden changes in temperature,
Suberite is able to maintain a constant temperature with respect to the external temperature (Lambda =0.040 W/
m°C ). Combining its propensity for low thermal absorption with a high insulating capacity, Suberite is a high-per-
forming product, even when used in a minimum thickness.

WHAT DOES THERMAL PROTECTION MEAN?
Thermal insulation in building serves to contain heat inside buildings
(in the winter) or protect them from external heat (in the summer). One
of the main strategies for improving the energy performance of a buil-
ding is the application of an insulation coating: internal coatings shield
against the transfer of heat by conduction into the different layers of
the wall, external coatings eliminate thermal bridges, create thermo-
reflectance and protect against infiltrations.
Suberite has a dual capacity to offer both thermal insulation and heat
screening. For example, using Suberite for the internal insulation coa-
ting means low energy consumption for heating or cooling, since the
insulated walls maintain a constant operating temperature of 13-15°C.
Cosa vuol dire PROTEZIONE TERMICA
L’isolamento termico in edilizia serve a contente il calore all’interno degli edifici (in
inverno) o a proteggerli dal calore esterno (in estate). Una delle principali strategie

The thermal insulation coating technique is one of the most
widely used and effective solutions for thermal insulation
of the walls of buildings. Thermal insulation can consist of
panels or plaster, which not only boost the winter heating
or summer cooling action but also protect the walls from
damage caused by atmospheric agents, slowing down
deterioration of the surface in the long term.
Unlike claddings or thermal insulation coatings on the inner
or outer wall of the house, Suberite is a simple effective
choice, because one single product and a minimum thick-
ness (1-3 mm) provide both the thermal insulation coating
and the aesthetics, i.e. the colour.

• As an anchoring primer on old tiles, before the application of waterproofing systems.
• As a primer for reinforced concrete containment tanks and swimming pools.

È un impermeabilizzante epossicementizio che si adatta a molteplici funzioni, composto da una speciale
resina epossidica (Parte A), da un catalizzatore(Parte B) e da cemento fuso (Parte C). CAMPI DI IMPIEGO:
• Per creare una barriera antisalina e risanare i muri umidi applicare ISOLFIX come cemento osmotico all’interno del
ciclo deumidificante.
• Per Impermeabilizzare eliminando infiltrazioni di acqua sia in controspinta negativa fino a 3 atm di pressione che positiva,
per la sigillatura di canalizzazioni, fosse ascensori, abbeveratoi, pavimenti.
• Per impermeabilizzare l’umidità dei pavimenti su sottofondi contro-terra e su massetti dove alta è la presenza di umidità.
• Per prevenire la umidità di risalita nelle pareti esterne a contatto con marciapiedi, garages, etc.
• Come Primer di ancoraggio su vecchie mattonelle, prima dell’applicazione di sistemi impermeabilizzanti o rivestimenti
Suberite.
• Come Primer per vasche di contenimento in cemento armato e per piscine.
• Barriera al vapore nel caso che la superficie di cemento verrà ricoperta con parquet o moquette.
• Può essere utilizzato anche come collante. Ottime proprietà coesive.

la Suberite fosse carteggiata pulire accuratamente la superficie da sporco. Colorare il prodotto a scelta aggiungendo il nostro
Toner specifico a base acqua.
