è stata curata dalla Funzione CSR-Sostenibilità (csr-sostenibilita@fnmgroup.it),

congiuntamente al Bilancio Consolidato l’11 marzo 2019 e consegnata all’Assemblea

This publication presents a summary of the Sustainability Report - Consolidated
Non-Financial Statement (hereinafter also “NFS”) 2018, which was in accordance
with Legislative Decree 254 of 30 December 2016, implemented as a result
of EU Directive 2014/95. The NFS refers to companies belonging to the Group
comprising FNM S.p.A. and its subsidiaries and covers the period 1 January 2018 to
31 December 2018.

The full versions of the Sustainability Report - NFS 2018 and of these “Highlights”
were produced by the CSR-Sustainability Department (csr-sostenibilita@fnmgroup.it),
which is coordinated by the Committee for Social Responsibility and Ethics, with
the support of the Sustainability Report - NFS Steering Committee.

The NFS was approved by the FNM S.p.A. Board of Directors, together with the
Consolidated Financial Statement, on 11 March 2019. It was presented to the
Shareholders’ Meeting on 17 April 2019.

The full version of the document, which can be found at www.fnmgroup.it,
was produced in compliance with the “GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards”
published by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) in 2016, in accordance with the
“Core” option.

The external audit of the report was undertaken by PricewaterhouseCoopers
S.p.A., which issued the “Independent Auditors Report” on 26 March 2019.

                                                                                      3

In 2018, important progress were made to make railway services more modern
and efficient. The new trains will be equipped with advanced technology also on
the safety front. The renewal of the fleet will bring social benefits, with easier
accessibility (using mobile door steps), as well as environmental benefits, thanks
to a 30% reduction in electricity consumption and less noise pollution, the energy
recovery when braking and the use of innovative materials.

These significant examples illustrate our constant focus on and commitment to
the sustainable development of the areas in which we operate.

At corporate level, as well as a deserving mention for our economic and financial
results, we have adopted a sustainability policy and implemented a culture of
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

FNM has shown its commitment to these issues through the creation of a dedicated
CSR-Sustainability Department and the production of Sustainability Reports,
which have later become Consolidated Non-Financial Statement in accordance
with Legislative Decree 254/2016, culminating in the 2020 Sustainability Plan, the
first in the italian transport sector.

We’re well aware that a sustainable approach to business reduces and controls
the impact of a company on the local area, thus creating benefits for society, for
communities and for institutions. At market level, it is a guarantee of quality, ethics
and transparency.

This is the start of a wider journey, in which the need to integrate the principle
of sustainable development with business strategies is becoming essential and
irreversible.

                                                                      Andrea Gibelli
