Cari Colleghi,
con grande piacere presentiamo il 2° Simposio SIdP-SEPA segno tangibile di una stretta e proficua
collaborazione che testimonia una volta di più l’incontro tra due culture affini accumunate ancora di più
dalla volontà di diffondere cultura parodontale e implantare di alto profilo.
Il tema che abbiamo scelto di affrontare, sulla scia dell’incontro di Bilbao 2018, riguarda la chirurgia
plastica dei tessuti molli attorno ai denti e agli impianti. Un tema non solo affascinante da un punto di
vista chirurgico ma centrale per assicurare salute e stabilità ai tessuti parodontali e peri-implantari.
Il programma ha una forte connotazione clinico-pratica con 6 workshops pratici che il giovedì mattina
daranno la possibilità di prendere confidenza con tecniche e tecnologie proprie della chirurgia plastica
interagendo con esperti di fama internazionale. Un’occasione imperdibile.
Il programma scientifico del venerdì e del sabato avrà lo scopo non solo di dare una overview generale
alla luce delle novità introdotte dalla nuova classificazione ma affronterà, in modo serrato e pratico, sia
gli aspetti tecnici operativi che il razionale che determina l’applicazione delle varie tecniche chirurgiche
rispondendo ad una semplice domanda: Quando una tecnica chirurgica è indicata e quando non lo è? Al
termine di ogni sessione ci sarà un dibattito condotto dai coordinatori scientifici che sarà un momento
di ulteriore sintesi e di confronto per dare una indicazione chiara e condivisa da portare a casa.
Siamo certi che sarà un Simposio entusiasmante in una cornice congressuale bella e funzionale e
che permetterà di migliorare conoscenze e abilità cliniche nell’affascinante campo della chirurgia
mucogengivale.

it is a pleasure to introduce the 2nd SIdP-SEPA Symposium. This meeting should be seen as the tangible
result of a tight and fruitful cooperation between two scientific societies that shares similar cultural
roots and the same mission of spreading periodontal and implant culture at the highest level.
The topic of this symposium will be soft tissue surgery around teeth and implants. An exciting topic
not only from the surgical stand-point but also as this is the key to ensure health and stability at the
periodontal and peri-implant tissues.
On Thursday morning 6 hands-on workshops will give the opportunity to get a training on plastic
surgical techniques and new technologies directly from some of the main international experts in this
field. An opportunity cannot be missed.
Friday and Saturday will be dedicated to get not only an updated overview on mucogingival surgery
after the introduction of the new classification system, but also to explore all the surgical available
procedures and be able to answer one simple question: When and when not a surgical technique is
indicated?
A panel discussion at the end of any session coordinated by the scientific chairmen, will wrap-up the
conclusion so to give a clear take home message.
We trust that this will be an exciting Symposium in a beautiful setting that will be able to improved
knowledge and clinical skill in the fascinating field of mucogingival surgery.
