Question 13 (5 marks) Read the text and then answer the questions that follow. Caro diario, Ti scrivo dopo tante settimane per raccontarti le ultime novità famigliari. Non ci crederai mai, ma la mamma ha trovato un nuovo passatempo: ballare . . . il tip-tap!!! Allora all’inizio andava una sera alla settimana. Ma presto ha sviluppato una vera e propria passione che è diventata un’ossessione! Adesso non la vediamo quasi mai. Ha trascurato tutti i suoi doveri. I vestiti sono sempre sporchi perché io non so usare la lavatrice. Sono IO che devo andare a prendere il mio fratellino da scuola ogni giorno perché lei è occupata con le prove. Ho dovuto anche rinunciare agli allenamenti di nuoto perché non mi può più portare in macchina. Povero Papà deve andare a fare la spesa dopo il lavoro e quando arriva a casa deve cucinare perché Mamma ritorna tardi dallo studio di danza. Ma quando la mamma è RARAMENTE a casa, non si leva mai le scarpe da tip tap e questo vuol dire che i pavimenti sono tutti rovinati e abbiamo sempre mal di testa perché sono scarpe molto rumorose. Question 14 (9 marks) Read the text and then answer the questions that follow. Un progetto per tutte le età di Fabio Montessori Villa Doria è davvero un progetto straordinario ed innovativo. Si tratta di un ospizio che ospita molte persone anziane che non possono più vivere da sole e che hanno bisogno di assistenza. I tipici ospizi, però, sono luoghi dove vivono solo anziani. Villa Doria, invece, vuole essere diversa. In questo istituto, infatti, c’è anche una scuola materna per bambini dai 2 ai 5 anni. Questa idea è nata 4 anni fa proprio da una dottoressa del centro che ha notato che quando gli anziani ricevevano visite da bambini erano sempre molto più felici. Oggi circa 35 bambini frequentano questo asilo dal lunedì al venerdì. Sentire questi bambini giocare e ridere è bellissimo per gli ospiti di Villa Doria e gli esperti sono sicuri che aiuta tutti. Per qualche ora alla settimana gli ospiti più anziani leggono favole ai bambini che sono sempre entusiasti di sentirle. Ogni venerdì mattina gli anziani, invece, si divertono ad ascoltare canzoni e poesie presentate dai bambini. Per le occasioni speciali si organizzano grandi feste in cui partecipano sia i piccoli che i grandi. Queste interazioni sociali hanno grandi benefici su tutti. L’ospizio e l’asilo condividono la mensa, il teatro e la biblioteca che significa che c’è anche un risparmio di soldi. Inoltre, gli amici o i familiari che visitano sono più contenti di portare anche i loro bambini al centro, perché non sembra un ospizio, ma una piccola città felice dove la saggezza incontra l’innocenza. Question 15 (10 marks) Read the text and then answer the questions that follow. Viaggiatore_senza_frontiere – Inizio questo blog per condividere il mio sogno e i miei dubbi con voi. Da quando ero piccolo ho sempre desiderato visitare altri continenti, ma la mia terribile paura degli insetti e di molti animali mi ha sempre fatto restare a casa. Forse adesso sono pronto a provare, ma non sono sicuro . . . Vorrei andare e rimanere per 3 o 4 mesi in un paese povero e fare un’esperienza di volontariato aiutando popolazioni meno fortunate. Al momento sto studiando fisioterapia all’università, quindi pensavo di contattare un’organizzazione umanitaria, ma non so da dove iniziare. Secondo voi è una buona idea per una persona come me che non è affatto avventurosa? Felice@qui – Innanzittutto, ti consiglio di pensare bene al tuo progetto. Potresti andare a lavorare in una scuola per un paio di anni insegnando italiano e guadagnare tanti soldi. Sarebbe bello andare in un paese del Centro America così puoi anche esplorare le foreste e magari vedere le meravigliose creature americane, come le api giganti e i pirana. Ti auguro un viaggio pieno di grandi avventure e tanto divertimento. Dott_Sonia – Ciao Viaggiatore, io sono un dottore chirurgo e per molti anni ho lavorato come volontaria in paesi dove ci sono guerre e carestie. È una scelta importante, ma tu sei sicuro di avere la grande determinazione e resilienza necessarie per fare questo tipo di volontariato? Ti senti adatto a fare un’esperienza del genere?
