I’m interested in working on a large range of supports, from the traditional to the unconventional ones. I start from my personal experience, but also from the historical and sociological sources. I like to define my work as a product of the ‘post-humanism’’, which is a term that generally describes a society whose development, through the technological pro- gress, is going beyond the fixed category of being (the time, for example), or predetermined grading (animals/humans), provoking big idiosyncrasies in relation to reality. I investigate the idea of extension of the image origination with heterogeneous languages, especially in analyzing the praxis of painting as a map of new possibilities and achievable devices. My practice is based on a combination of both philosophical and material research. What awakes my interest often becomes a vehicle for creation, linking the elements with which I have contact. This allows me to extend the comprehension of my semantic field. Indeed, my work becomes a breach towards the possibility of slight touches, tangencies and connections with the grainy surface of the world, in a tensive relationship between seen and unseen, appearance and disappearance. ~ Quello che mi interessa è lavorare con una vasta gamma di supporti, dal tradizionale al non convenzionale. Spesso attingo dal mio vissuto ma anche da fonti storiche o sociologiche. Mi piace indicare il mio lavoro come un prodotto di ‘post-umanismo’ che è un termine che descrive in generale una società che, con il progresso tecnologico, si sta evolvendo al di là di categorie fisse di essere (ad esempio il tempo), o classi- ficazioni predeterminate (ad esempio animali / umani). Ho in mente un’idea di estensione e di originazione dell’immagine, che indago con linguaggi eterogenei, sopratutto approfondendo la prassi della pittura map- pandone nuove possibilità e dispositivi. La mia pratica si basa su una combinazione di ricerca filolosofica e ricerca del materiale. Quello che desta il mio interesse spesso diventa uno strumento per la creazione, met- tendo in circolo gli elementi con cui entro in contatto che mi permette di estendere la comprensione del mio campo semantico. Il mio lavoro infatti funge spesso da apertura verso la possibilità di sfiioramenti, tangenze e legami con la superficie granulosa del mondo, in un rapporto di tensione tra visto e non visto, apparizione e sparizione.

2016 Biography WAX, Galleria Francesco Pantaleone, Palermo Vincenzo Schillaci (Palermo, 1984) lives and works between Palermo and Rome. Through heterogeneous languages, with a prevalent use of the pictorial medium, Vincenzo 2015 Schillaci investigates the possible tangencies and links of the relationship between the granular surface of the images’ world and the ideas. A determined impetus as a formal Re Building The Future, curated by Marco Pierini, ex chiesa dei Cavalieri di Malta, Siracusa; constitution tool, which guarantees the autonomy of the works.
