Con settembre lasciandoci e andando in ottobre, ci spostiamo in più tempo
più caldo della primavera. Ma ottobre è un mese speciale per me, durante
questo periodo di turbolenze politiche in altre parti del mondo, tifoni in Nord
America, il mio obiettivo spirituale in ottobre è importante.
Il mese di ottobre è "mese di rosario" nella Chiesa cattolica, quando i fedeli
sono incoraggiati a pregare il rosario se possibile.
Il mese di ottobre è dedicato al Santo Rosario, l'unica preghiera contemplativa
attraverso la quale, guidata dalla Madre celeste del Signore, mettiamo il nostro
sguardo sul volto del Redentore per essere conforme alla sua gioiosa, piena,
dolente e gloriosi misteri.
Vi invito a pregare Maria (Madre di Gesù) e
prendere tempo nella nostra vita occupata
e lotte con gli affari del mondo e praticare la
nostra devozione a livello personale, familiare e
comunitario.

arse, poi, terroristi senza confini. A riempire il bicchiere, gli arsenali atomici sparsi sul pianeta: le esplosioni
eseguite nel corso degli ultimi cinquant’anni nel sottosuolo delle varie nazioni hanno scosso e frantumato le

FEDERAZIONE CATTOLICA ITALIANA

Con rimmarico vengo ad annunciare che alcuni mesi
fà è venuto a mancare Enzo Vecchione; stimato amico
della Federazione Cattolica Italiana (FCI) e residente di
Hobart,Tasmania.
Enzo, insieme con sua moglie Elvira, fù uno dei primi
membri della Federazione Cattolica Italiana nella
Tasmania. Sempre orgoglioso verso la FCI, Enzo Vecchione
è stato instrumentale a stabilire la sezione di San Carlo a
Hobart. Insieme con Elvira, sono stati per molti anni “la vita”
della sezione e di molto aiuto con tutti i membri. Enzo fù
sempre un membro molto attivo sia della parocchia che
della sezione di San Carlo.
Ho conosciuto Enzo per la prima volta negli anni 90
mentre stavo a servire con Elvira, nello stesso Comitato
Nazionale della FCI. A causa di questa esperienza, naque
fra noi un’amicizia semplice e sincera. Qual’ora ho
avuto l’occasione di trovarmi a Hobart, la sua casa era il
mio “albergo” ed Enzo era il mio “Taxi”. Enzo, con la sua
gentilezza e con le sue parole sempre ben scelte, mi
faceva sentire non solo a casa ma sempre ben accolto.
Ritengo cari l’esperienza e i ricordi di quei anni passati
perchè in essi ho conosciuto la vera qualità della persona
di Enzo, una persona saggia, colta, religiosa, dedicata e (Da sinistra a destra) - Frank Longhi (passato nel 2016 - membro della

sempre pronto a porgere l’orecchio con attenzione e
umiltà. Ne son sicuro che molti membri dela Federazione

Da oltre trent'anni, la nostra sezione North Brisbane, Wooloowin dedica ai nostri papà, una serata
di festa.
Festeggiando i papà presenti e ricordando con affetto e amore tutti i papà che ci hanno preceduti.
Anche quest'anno li abbiamo festiggiati sabato 2 settembre nella sala di Heritage Hall di
Wooloowin con una abbondante cena a tre portare e tanta gioisa musica, allegramente suonata
dal nostra musicista e cantante "Livio".
Durante l'allegra e piacevole serata sono stati premati il papà più giovane e il papà più anziano ai
quali insieme ai nostri auguri abbiamo presentato un piccolo regalino.

1) FESTA DEI FOLPI: Domenica 11 giugno scorso presso la
sala parrocchiale della chiesa francescana, Little Flower di
Kedron, ha avuto luogo la Festa dei Folpi (Polpi) (tradizione
dell'associazione Trevisani nel Mondo di Brisbane).
Ha preso parte come ospite d'onore Padre Mauro Conte, che ha
dato inizio con la preghiera al Signore di benedire il cibo.
Servito a scelta, per primo: dei saporiti calamari o risotto ai funghi,
segue: folpi al sugo con polenta o pollo cacciatora con polenta. Per
finire una deliziosa zuppa inglese (torta), caffè e dolci.

Cav.Maggiolo consegna a P.Mauro l’assegno per il

Come sempre c'è stata una ricca lotteria, con due premi messi
all'asta, la sfida dei competitori ha destato un'allegra atmosfera. Il
Presidente Maggiolo ha dichiarato che nel suo recente viaggio in
Italia si è recato ad Amatrice, un luogo in cui è avvenuto il
terremoto nell’agosto 2016, per consegnare la somma raccolta
dall'AITM di Brisbane, a qualcuno bisognoso del posto. L'incontro
è avvenuto con due giovani. Avendo perso la loro casa, dormivano
in macchina e l'assegno di 4000 €gli avrebbe aiutati ad avere un
prefabbricato. Alla fine ha ringraziato il comitato... e tutti i
presenti per aver partecipato.

organizzato dall’AITM Sezione di Brisbane, per festeggiare i Papá. Una festa riuscita per la numerosa e sentita
presenza di nonni, padri, con i loro bambini che si sono divertiti con il popolare Jumping Castle. Durante la
festa sono stati festeggiati il padre piú vecchio ed il papá piú giovane. Inoltre, è stato festeggiato il 12mo
anniversario di Sonia e Denis Asnicar. La fisarmonica di Livio Taraborelli ha intrattenuto i partecipanti e cosí
pure le storielle di Davide Maggiolo.
