Il palazzo di giustizia si situa al centro della città di Luga-
no ed è costituito da un insieme urbanistico di quattro
edifici collegati tra di loro.
Il progetto persegue come obiettivi l’ammoderna-
mento delle parti edili e il mantenimento del carattere
rappresentativo del più importante edificio cantonale
a Lugano, valorizzandone la particolare architettura, ri-
definendo gli spazi di lavoro e adeguandoli alle mutate
esigenze, assicurando un grado di benessere ottimale.
Gli interventi riguardano diversi elementi: il basamento
dell’edificio e il foyer di ingresso, sono stati completa-
mente riprogettati in un ottica funzionale contempo-
ranea; le facciate sono state risanate ma il disegno ar-
chitettonico originario è stato mantenuto data la sua
grande qualità; il layout degli ufficiè stato adeguato alle
nuovo esigenze di confort e impiantistica moderne.
Vengono inoltre ottimizzati il bilancio energetico nel ri-
spetto dell’ambiente attraverso i più innovativi sistemi
impiantistici, riguardanti l’illuminazione, il condiziona-
mento e il ricircolo dell’aria all’interno degli ambienti
di lavoro. Tramite questi interventi mirati, il Palazzo di
Giustizia di Lugano viene riconfigurato come edificio di
assoluta avanguardia riguardo i temi di sostenibilità ed
efficienza energetica.
The courthouse is located in the center of Lugano and
is composed by four interconnected buildings.
The project has different goals: the modernization of con-
struction and the restoration of one of the most represen-
tative building in Lugano. The design we proposed aim to
emphasizes the special architecture features of the existent
building, redefining the work spaces and adapting them to
62 changed functional needs and ensuring optimum comfort
level.
The operations concerned different elements: the base-
ment of the building and the foyer have been completely
redesigned in a contemporary and functional way; the
facades have been restored with the conservation of the
original architectural design because of its high quality;
the offices layout has been redesigned to satisfay the most
modern comfort requirements.
We also optimized the energy balance in the environment
through innovative technical systems used for lighting, air
conditioning and air circulation. Through these targeted
interventions, the Lugano courthouse would be reconfigu-
red as a top level sustainable and energy efficient bulding.64
