First Educational Activity – 23rd September 2021 The first Educational Activity was held at Marina Dorica – main stakeholder of the Municipality of Ancona for the ECOMAP project. Other relevant stakeholders took part to the event called “Un mare di idee per le nostre acque” - such as Alleanza COOP 3.0 and Legambiente that sponsored a second Seabin for the marina. Furthermore, Anywave Safilens – a “conscious” sail boat presented the first-time “On-board responsible crew member” who is accountable for on- board recycling but also collecting spotted plastics left in the sea. It all started with a press conference in which Michele Polenta – City Councillor for the Municipality of Ancona – highlighted the importance of the ECOMAP project for Marina Dorica and the whole town. Results and objectives of the ECOMAP project were presented to the public and stakeholders with whom there was a shared vision on the marine environment and how to protect it. The training mainly focused on recycling for boat owners. European Regional Development Fund www.italy-croatia.eu
Second Educational Activity – 12th May 2022 The second Educational was held at Marina Dorica – main stakeholder of the Municipality of Ancona for the ECOMAP project. The event called “Think blue. Stop Sea Pollution” started with greetings from Michele Polenta – City Councillor for the Municipality of Ancona and Alessandro Domogrossi – Director of Marina Dorica. The training focused on the impact of plastics and micro-plastics on the sea and marine environment by Prof. Francesco Regoli from the University of Ancona. Prof. Carmela Vaccaro highlighted the importance of good practices for waste management in small ports and beaches related to the ECOMAP project. Filippo Ugolini from Garbage Group presented the company's plan of action to tackle maritime and port wast in light of the new European and Italian regulations. Fabio Vallarola from the Municipality of Ancona presented the billboards acquired within the ECOMAP project and Clara Tiberi made a general overview on the results achieved by the project. Alessandro Domogrossi completed the training with the ISPS code. (Presentation as annex). During the event the water pump on trolley for boat black water and the KIT to prevent oil spilling were presented to the public and boat owners trained on how to use them. Marina Dorica made a video showing how to use the water pump - for those boat owners that could not take part to the event. At the end every boat owner received a KIT. Event description: The REMTECH EXPO 2020 digital edition was held online from September 21 to September 25. RemTech Expo is an international event specialized on remediations, coasts, floods, climate, seismic risk, urban regeneration and sustainable industry. The program of the appointments is always focused on: normative evolution, characterization, analysis, risks, technologies, research, innovations, monitoring, territories, works, industries, sustainability.1 PP9, namely Consorzio Futuro in Ricerca -CFR, has bought a virtual spot in this event and it has dedicated it to the project ECOMAP. Moreover PP9, with the collaboration of PP8 (University of Ferrara), has organised a symposium in the section COASTS, PORTS, SEA. The symposium consisted in two sessions, the first one coordinated by PP8, PP6 and PP10 and the second one by PP10 and PP6. The virtual stand: The published materials concerning the project have been organized and uploaded on the online platform in order to create the profile: the logo, the cover page, the brochure, a video and the general information which are present on the official ECOMAP website. As the online platform used to hold the event allows to record the users’ activities, we can state that the CFR- ECOMAP profile has been visited by about 50 users so far. Statistics has also been downloaded from the back office and they concern visitor list and business cards list. Two .xlsx files have been generated and data are attached to this report as annexes. Of a particular importance is the business cards list as it contains the contact information of visitors interested in the project, which have left their cards. 1 http://www.remtechexpo.com/index.php/en/description 4
Figure 1. CFR-ECOMAP profile on the platform with the indication of the number of visits (50). A video and a poster about the project are also visible in the "home" section. The symposium: PP9, with the collaboration of PP8, have organised a symposium in the section COASTS, PORTS, SEA. The symposium consisted in two sessions, the first one coordinated by PP8, PP6 and PP10 and the second one by PP10 and PP6. The title of session I is "Good practices for the application of (EC) No 725/2004 -ISPS code (International Ship and Port Facility Security)" ECOMAP INTERREG Italy Croatia Program, and it comes under WP2, activity 2.4 of the application proposal. The title of session II is "Good practices for Smart Port Cities” ECOMAP INTERREG Italy Croatia Program. The programme of the symposium includes the list of the speakers and the titles of the speeches and has been published online on the RemtechExpo 2020 website2. This document has been also attached to this report as an annex. 2 https://www.remtechexpodigitaledition.it/coste-porti-mare/good-practices-for-the-application-of-ec-no-725-2004- isps-code-international-ship-and-port-facility-security-ecomap-interreg-italy-croatia-program/ 5
For this event many experts and institutions has been invited, which are involved in the areas of security in large and small ports, sustainable management, big data, monitoring and protection of cultural heritage, underwater noise reduction measures, fire hazard security, underwater archaeology, virtual environments, bioinvasion of alien species and marine pollution. The participation in the seminar was free and anyone interested and registered on the online platform could participate live. Moreover, the seminar has been recorded and the recording has been published on YouTube with free access, on the channel of Ferrara Fiere3. Until March 30th, 2022 the views were n.32. Figure 2. The web page on the platform dedicated to the participation in the symposium. Now the same page allows to watch the recording of the event. During the live event, participants were about 22. A direct link to the event and the instructions for the online registration on the platform have been sent to all the partners of the project in order to allow their participation. In order to disseminate and promote the 3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RQWV6bl1-4 6
symposium, the same information has been sent also to all the speakers, so they could further communicate the event. Due to the time restrictions which characterize online events and with the purpose of promoting discussions, at the end of the conference all the participants have been invited to join the chat room dedicated to CFR-ECOMAP virtual stand. Moreover, the chat has been supplemented by the creation of additional channels, each one dedicated to a different speaker. Figure 3. Screenshot of the chat room for CFR-ECOMAP and an example of a dedicated channel for a single speech. The recorded seminar will be kept available for visitors on Youtube platform, so a regular update of the statistics has been already considered. 7
Communication activity: PP9 has promoted the event on its website4 through a descriptive article and including the direct link to conference webpage and the Youtube page. 4 https://www.cieffeerre.it/news/cfr-a-remtech-expo-2020-con-il-progetto-201cecomap201d 8
