Una cornice davvero affascinante per i concerti della rassegna ICE MUSIC: la stazione
di arrivo del Passo Paradiso, a 2600 metri di altitudine. A cavallo di uno storico confi-
ne, in uno scenario bianco e straordinario.
A fascinating setting for the ICE MUSIC concerts. At an altitude of 2600 meters at the
arrival station of the Passo Paradiso lift. Extraordinary pure white landscapes right on
the border of two regions.

Tim Linhart
Un artista americano, cresciuto nel New Mexico, che ha sempre amato l’inverno e lo
sci. È Tim Linhart, il fondatore di ICE MUSIC. Da 36 anni protagonista nel lavorare il
ghiaccio come materia artistica. Sperimentando varie tecniche, ha creato moltissime
sculture, fino a quando si è reso conto che il ghiaccio poteva emettere suoni…
Sono nati così i suoi geniali strumenti musicali e quindi la straordinaria ICE MUSIC.
An American artist who grew up in New Mexico and who has always loved winter and
skiing. Tim Linhart, the pioneer of ICE MUSIC. An expert in the artistic use of ice for
more than 36 years. After having experimented with various techniques, he realized
that ice could also produce a wide range of sounds, and this is how his amazing musi-
cal instruments made of ice were born and subsequently ICE MUSIC.

Vibrazioni di ghiaccio | Vibrations from ice
La vera grande attrazione sono gli strumenti. Di ghiaccio, anche quelli. Sembra impos-
sibile poter costruire con il ghiaccio strumenti che suonano perfettamente, con una
sonorità tutta da scoprire, capaci di restituire le emozioni che solo i grandi musicisti
sanno regalare. 16 strumenti di ghiaccio, un’orchestra a tutti gli effetti: è la sfida vinta
da Tim Linhart, una storia che è arrivata in tutto il mondo. Strumenti del freddo per
una musica che riscalda ed emoziona.
The biggest attraction is of course the instruments, also made of ice. It seems almost
impossible that instruments made out of ice can also produce perfect sounds, new
acoustics which awaken endless emotions, that only the greatest musicians have
been able to give us. Sixteen musical instruments made of ice, an entire orchestra
of instruments: a challenge won by Tim Linhart, a tale which has reached the entire
world. ‘Icy cold’ instruments whose music ‘warms’ the soul.

Mercedes-Benz Bonera Ice Dome: un anfiteatro di ghiaccio, una straordinaria realizza-
zione, l’idea dell’artista americano Tim Linhart che diventa realtà: un teatro di ghiaccio
con 200 posti a sedere. Un teatro dalle linee curve e avvolgenti, un ambiente magico,
con i riflessi delle luci, l’acustica dei suoni, in un clima particolare.
The Mercedes-Benz Bonera Ice Dome: an amphitheatre made of ice, an amazing crea-
tion. The idea of American artist Tim Linhart that has become a reality: a 200 seater
ice theatre. A curvy design that embraces all who enter into a magical environment
where light is reflected and the acoustics are definitely unique.

L’Ice Music orchestra formata dai musicisti della Piccola Orchestra Lumiere, presen-
terà un programma da brivido, attraverso i grandi temi della musica classica da Vivaldi
a Cajkovskij, con incursioni nella musica popolare ed alcuni brani inediti ed originali,
appositamente creati per l’Ice-Music Festival.
La Piccola Orchestra Lumière ha al suo attivo numerosi concerti in Italia ed all’estero,
tra cui: il Konzerthaus di Vienna; l’università Luiss di Roma in occasione della laurea
honoris causa di Mario Draghi; la CBS di Shanghai (con un servizio sull’attività artistica
dell’ensemble); la Filarmonica di Trento (come orchestra residente), il Festival dell’Eco-
nomia di Trento; il Festival Bolsko Lito in Croazia. L’ensemble ha inciso il disco “Shake-
speare for dreamers” edito da Squilibri Editore, con musiche originali di Nicola Segatta,
suo compositore e membro, con i violoncellisti Giovanni Sollima e Monika Leskovar.

The “Piccola Orchestra Lumière”, which includes 6 musicians, will present a thrilling
performance of classical music by Vivaldi and Tchaikovsky, with the surprising addi-
tion of pop music and several original songs written specifically for the ICE MUSIC
festival. The “Piccola Orchestra Lumière” performs both in Italy and abroad: including
the Konzerthaus in Vienna; the Luiss University in Rome; the CBS in Shanghai; the
Philharmonic in Trento (where they are the resident orchestra); the Festival dell’E-
conomia in Trento and the Festival Bolsko Lito in Croatia. The group has recorded an
album called ‘Shakespeare for Dreamers’ with original music by Nicola Segatta and the
cellists Giovanni Sollima and Monika Leskovar.
