Complexity of the European Scenario

• Epidemiology: 2.7 million new cases (2020), 1.3
  million deaths (2020), expected increase of about
  25% by 2035

• Variability in Epidemiology, Economics and
  Outcomes (between and within countries)

• Only20-40% of cancer patients are treated in
  CCC/CCI

EBCP e CM
   Europe’ Beating Cancer Plan and Cancer Mission have the common objectives
        to improve quality and decrease inequalities in cancer care in Europe,
                                   in order to:

            Decrease mortality, improve survival and ameliorate QoL*

                 These objectives may be achieved only with:

• supporting research and health care activities
• a wider participation of all Member States and Affiliated Countries
• a direct involvement of all the relevant stake-holders in the co-design and project
  implementation, including citizens and patients
• aligment and coordination at national and European level

* Some targets are not realistic!

Nel suo contesto è stato formato un Sub Group
                   sul Cancro

The Sub-group on Cancer is set up under
the formal Commission expert group
"Steering Group on Health Promotion,
Disease Prevention and Management of
Non-Communicable Diseases” (SGPP)

                                 Article 7: sub-groups shall operate in
                                 compliance with the horizontal rules and
                                 shall report to the group (“the Steering
                                 Group”).
