AGENDA
Venerdì 29 e sabato 30 maggio, si svolgerà a Roma, presso il Centro Conferenze
Internazionali “Alcide De Gasperi” la riunione dei Ministri G8 della Giustizia e
dell'Interno, che sarà presieduta dai Ministri Angelino Alfano e Roberto Maroni.
Alla riunione parteciperanno le 16 rappresentanze degli Stati membri e, come invitati,
anche: il Commissario Europeo, Jacques Barrot, il Segretario Generale di Interpol,
Ronald Noble, il Direttore esecutivo UNODC (United Nations Office on Drugs and
Crime) Antonio Maria Costa, il Direttore UNICRI (United Nations Interregional
Crime and Justice Research Institute) Sandro Calvani, e i Ministri dell'Interno e della
Giustizia della Repubblica Ceca, (Paese Presidente di turno dell'Unione Europea).
I lavori saranno articolati in tre sessioni:
la prima sessione: ”Criminalità organizzata”, nel corso della quale si discuterà di lotta
alle consorterie criminali transnazionali, con una particolare attenzione all'aggressione
ai patrimoni criminali e alle prospettive della cooperazione internazionale.
Si parlerà anche dei diversi aspetti del cybercrime e di come combattere il fenomeno
della pedopornografia on line.

all'immigrazione illegale, alla tratta di esseri umani e all'integrazione degli immigrati

to uno specifico spazio di riflessione alla memoria di Giovanni Falcone, nel decennale
dell'avvio dei negoziati che portarono all'adozione della Convenzione di Palermo, primo
e unico strumento a carattere universale di cooperazione nella lotta alla criminalità orga-
nizzata transnazionale.

The Meeting of G8 Ministers of Justice and Home Affairs, chaired by Minister
Angelino Alfano and Minister Roberto Maroni, will be held in Rome on Friday 29th
and Saturday 30th May 2009, at the International Conference Centre "Alcide De
Gasperi" (located in via Pier della Francesca, 3).
The meeting will be attended by 16 representatives of the G8 Member States and other
guests, including: the European Commissioner, Jacques Barrot, the Secretary General of
Interpol, Ronald Noble, the Executive Director of UNODC (United Nations Office on
Drugs and Crime) Antonio Maria Costa, the Director UNICRI (United Nations
Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute) Sandro Calvani, and the Ministers
of the Interior and Justice of the Czech Republic, holding the current EU Presidency).
The meeting will be divided into three sessions.
- Friday May 29, at 10:00 am, there will be the welcome address of the Minister of
Interior, Roberto Maroni and Justice Minister, Angelino Alfano, followed by the first
session on "Organized Crime". The discussion will be focused on the fight against tran-
snational crime syndicates with particular emphasis on the attack to criminal assets and
prospects of international co-operation.
The discussion will also focus on the various aspects of cybercrime and on how to com-
bat the phenomenon of child pornography online.
- The second session will start at 3:00 pm and will deal with “Migratory issues”. The
discussion will address the problems associated with illegal immigration, trafficking in
human beings and the integration of immigrants in the destination countries.
At 5:30 pm, in the Aula Magna of the Court of Cassation, located in piazza Cavour,
there will an event with presentations on specific issues in memory of Judge Giovanni
Falcone: In fact, this year marks the tenth anniversary of the beginning of the negotia-
tions that led to the adoption of the Palermo Convention, the first and only instrument
of universal co-operation for the fight against transnational organized crime.
- The third session of the G8 meeting will take place on Saturday May 30 and will be
divided into two parts. The first, at 9:30 am, will focus on "Urban Security", a topic
that will be dealt with for the first time by the G8 ministers, given the growing interna-
tional attention to issues regarding the relationship between the dimension of the city,
urban safety and quality of life of its citizens. At 10.45 am there will be the second part,
dedicated to the issue: "Combating Terrorism", with particular reference to its develop-
ment on an international scale and the possible improvement of counter-terrorism co-
operation.
At 1:00 pm, at the end of the meeting, there will be a press conference.

I rappresentanti della stampa provvederanno personalmente agli spostamenti da e per
gli aeroporti. Il percorso in taxi dall'aeroporto al centro città dura circa 45 minuti.
Dall'aeroporto di Fiumicino è possibile raggiungere il centro città (Stazione di Roma
Termini) mediante l'apposita linea ferroviaria diretta (www.trenitalia.com) con parten-

Journalists' access to the Conference venue, i.e. the International Conference Centre
“Alcide De Gasperi”, is strictly limited to the representatives of the accredited media.
The accredited journalists will receive a special badge that is personal and cannot be
transferred to third persons. They are required to wear it in a visible way and have a valid
identity document.
Media representatives can pick up their badges on the day of the Conference at the press
accreditation desk, located at the entrance of the International Conference Centre, Via
Guido Reni, 23, by submitting an official accreditation document and a valid identity
document.
Please, report lost badges immediately to the press accreditation desk, Via Guido Reni,
23, where access controls are carried out.
