Il 5 maggio, come ogni anno, si celebra la Giornata internazionale
dell'ostetrica; tale appuntamento di risonanza internazionale pone al centro
dell’attenzione il valore sociale e sanitario dell’ostetrica nel mondo, nonché
il suo ruolo chiave nella tutela e nella promozione della salute della donna in
tutto il suo ciclo vitale, nonché dei loro diritti riproduttivi. Lo slogan indicato
da ICM (International Confederation of Midwives) per il 2020 è “Midwives
with women: celebrate, demonstrate, mobilize, unite - our time is NOW!” (Le
Ostetriche con le donne: celebrare, dimostrare, mobilitare, unire – il nostro
tempo è ADESSO!)

Come sottolineato da Franka Cadée Presidente ICM, "Le Ostetriche
difendono i diritti delle donne" . E’ significativo evidenziare pertanto il ruolo
centrale che le ostetriche rivestono, nelle loro comunità e nei paesi in cui
esercitano la professione, nella protezione dei diritti delle donne, delle
ragazze garantendo loro di poterli esercitare pienamente, in particolare quelli
associati alla salute riproduttiva e sessuale.

L’OMS               ha        dichiarato             il      2020        quale
“Anno Internazionale dell’Infermiere e dell’Ostetrica”, ed è proprio in questo
giorno che nel mondo si intende celebrare il lavoro delle ostetriche.
L'OMS in particolare raccomanda di rafforzare il ruolo delle
Ostetriche affinchè si possa assicurare a tutte le donne ed ai bambini di ogni
paese del mondo, un’assistenza ostetrica qualificata e pertinente agli effettivi
livelli                             di                              necessità.

Le studenti ostetriche del 3 anno e della Laurea in Ostetricia e del Corso di
Laurea Magistrale in Scienze Infermieristiche ed Ostetriche UNIBS hanno
prodotto una serie Posters al fine di valorizzare l’arte e la scienza della
Midwifery ovvero delle Scienze ostetrico-ginecologico-neonatali , i cui

ABSTRACT - These training activities are recognized as continuing
education. The Degree course in Midiwfery of the University of
Brescia(Lombardia, Italy) has organized several laboratories to be
considered tutoring activities within a professionalising internship, carried out
by a multi-professional team of midwives and gynecologists (teachers and
tutors) in collaboration with the Midwifery chef of the course. The aim is to
learn practical skills: "Perineal suturing", "Management of water birth",
"Management of shoulder dystocia". The courses were created using
different teaching methods, in particular the use of devices and tools such as
dummies / simulators. For the quality of the contents, the trainers referred to
best practices.

ABSTRACT - The term "obstetric violence" refers to the abuse that occurs
in obstetric and gynecological care. A survey of 2018 reported a medicalized
summary and the presence of thephenomenon in Italian delivery rooms.
Meanwhile,          the         WHO            has         released          new
recommendations for a "positive" birth experience. Investigate the mothers’
experience in the delivery room, the care path offered and detect if there are
situations of obstetric violence.It is a cross-sectional study. The tool used is
an                 anonymous                     semi                  structured
questionnaire. 223 women were interviewed.82% of the sample reported
respectful behaviors by the obstetric team; the negative opinions (18%) refer
to excessive haste, lack of attention and interest in the parturient. Women are
adequately informed, their choices are shared and their needs are met,
according to a holistic approach. The data shows a woman-centered are of

model, not medicalized, respectful of the parturient and newborn, as who
2018 guidelines suggest.

ABSTRACT The experience of pain during labor is highly subjective and it is
the result of the interaction of stirrings that make it difficult to predict, for the
woman and the caregiver, the experience of pain. Different socio-
demographic, individual, clinical, cultural and opinions about pain influence
the decision-making process of women regarding the use of epidural
analgesia. The obstetric counselling obtains particular importance for
supporting the shared decision-making process and for the empowerment of
women, promoting informed choices supported by evidence-based
information. The aim of the study is to investigate the characteristics of
women who choose epidural analgesia, the factors that influence the
decision-making process and the adequacy of the obstetric counseling. The
study was conducted at the “Spedali Civili di Brescia”. All the labouring
women, regardless the use of epidural analgesia, was recruited. The sample
consists of 161 women. Each woman completed a questionnaire within 48
hours of the delivery and data was collected from the medical record. The
poster shows the results of the research.

In occasione di questa giornata, le studenti e le docenti ostetriche
dell’università di Brescia colgono l’occasione per valorizzare e ricordare
anche il forte impegno quotidiano delle ostetriche bresciane operanti negli
ospedali e nel territorio anche in questa situazione di emergenza sanitaria
regionale e nazionale “COVID-19”
