Il Moscow Mule sembra sia nato nel 1946 dall’incontro fra il
proprietario del Cock ‘n’ Bull pub di Sunset Boulevard, che smaltiva
le sue scorte di ginger beer a fatica, e John Martin, un commerciante
che non riusciva a vendere la sua vodka. Per fortuna i due presero delle
tazze di rame e ci versarono dentro i loro prodotti insieme a del succo
di lime: un colpo di genio che non ha solamente creato un cocktail che
è entrato nella storia, ma che ha anche lanciato il consumo di vodka
negli USA.
The Moscow Mule seems to have been created in 1946 from the meeting
between the owner of the Cock ‘n’ Bull pub on Sunset Boulevard, who
dispelled his supplies of ginger beer with difficulty, and John Martin, a
merchant who could not sell his vodka . Fortunately, the two took some
copper cups and poured their products into it along with lime juice: a
stroke of genius that not only created a cocktail that entered history, but
also launched vodka consumption in USA.

Il cocktail divenne velocemente famoso in tutto il mondo grazie alla
semplicità della sua ricetta.

Barman Fosco Scarselli who added a portion of Dry Gin instead of
soda in count Camillo Negroni’s Americano cocktail, who used to go to
London. The cocktail quickly became famous all over the world thanks
to the simplicity of its recipe.

la paternità della ricetta è il francese Fernand Petiot, bartender del

definitiva già nel 1934. Fu lui a portarlo al successo mondiale: il nome
del cocktail pare derivi da quello di una sua grande ammiratrice, la
star hollywoodiana Mary Pickford, che “tradì” il suo storico drink
quando nacque il Bloody Mary
A first version the cocktail was created by George Jessel. But Fernand
Petiot, bartender of the St. Regis Hotel in NY, was who claims to have
developed the definitive recipe as early as 1934. Hen was who brought
it to world success: the name of the cocktail seems to derive from that
of a great admirer, the Hollywood star Mary Pickford, who “betrayed”
her historic drink when the Bloody Mary was born

prima del matrimonio di David, Daniel presentasse il Margarita come regalo
di nozze per Margarita, sua cognata.
There are many people who claim to have been drinking Margarita in the ‘30s,
so it’s easy to say that Margarita was not invented after 1940. According to
Salvador Negrete, son of Daniel (1936), the family tradition has it that Daniel
had opened a bar at the Garci Crispo Hotel, with his brother David, and the day
before David’s wedding, Daniel presented the Margarita as a wedding present
for Margarita, her sister-in-law.

La bevanda ha origine dalla coltivazione della canna da zucchero in
Brasile attorno al 1532. Il succo fermentato veniva utilizzato come

che diedero vita ad una rivolta. Ottenuta l’indipendenza il drink (da

The drink originates from the cultivation of sugar cane in Brazil
around 1532. The fermented juice was used as a medicine by the
peasant populations. The rapid spread imposed a tax on the part of
the Portuguese to the local populations who gave rise to a revolt.
After obtaining independence, the drink (from caipira, derogatory of
“peasant”) became a national drink.

Dry Martini seduti nei migliori locali del mondo, dall’American Bar
dell’Hotel Savoy di Londra al Nomad Bar di New York. La scoperta
di questo cocktail è stata di un barista di nome Martini originario
della Liguria emigrato negli Stati Uniti, creò questa miscela attorno
al 1910 presso il Knickerbocker Hotel di New York in onore di John D.
Rockefeller.
It is the classic of the classics, so much so that it has given its name to
the homonymous glass. Generations of revellers and travellers ordered
a Dry Martini seated in the best clubs in the world, from the American
Bar of the Savoy Hotel in London, to the Nomad Bar in New York. The
discovery of this cocktail was by a bartender named Martini originally
from Liguria who emigrated to the United States, creating this blend
around 1910 at the Knickerbocker Hotel in New York, in honour of
John D. Rockefeller.
