CORSI DI LINGUA E CULTURA ITALIANA 2018 Il Centro Linguistico dell'Università per Stranieri di Siena - Cluss è un centro di ricerca e servizi finalizzato all'insegnamento della lingua italiana come lingua straniera e alla ricerca in ambito linguistico e glottodidattico. Il Centro Linguistico promuove, organizza ed eroga i corsi di lingua italiana per stranieri; collabora con gli altri Centri e con la Facoltà di Lingua e Cultura Italiana dell'Università per Stranieri di Siena alla predisposizione di percorsi di alta formazione e alla ricerca in ambito linguistico e glottodidattico. L'offerta formativa, ampia e differenziata, contempla sia corsi di lingua trimestrali, strutturati per moduli mensili fino al conseguimento dei Diplomi di Primo Grado e di Secondo Grado in Lingua e Cultura Italiana, sia corsi mensili e speciali, pensati per chi desidera apprendere la lingua italiana in poche settimane. Con il superamento dei relativi esami finali i corsi sono validabili in crediti accademici secondo il sistema ECTS. Durante il soggiorno a Siena gli studenti possono inoltre frequentare seminari, laboratori e corsi a tema di varie tipologie. Tutti i corsi di lingua si svolgono tenendo conto delle innovazioni metodologiche, integrando i vari approcci in considerazione degli stili cognitivi e dei bisogni linguistici individuali. Per svolgere la loro attività i docenti si avvalgono delle più recenti tecnologie glottodidattiche, quali i laboratori linguistici multimediali e i supporti audiovisivi e informatici.
Gli studenti possono utilizzare le aule multimediali e i laboratori linguistici per l'autoapprendimento
e hanno accesso gratuito ai servizi della Biblioteca dell'Università per Stranieri di Siena ed altre
iniziative che organizzate dal Cluss e dall'Ateneo.
Il Centro Linguistico ha recentemente ottenuto l'accreditamento EAQUALS (Evaluation &
Accreditation of Quality in Language Services), una certificazione di qualità che attesta l'eccellenza
nell'insegnamento della lingua in confomità con i più alti standards internazionali.
L'Università ha anche ottenuto la certificazione UNI EN ISO 9001: 2008 certificazione per tutte le
attività didattiche.
Il Centro Linguistico organizza corsi trimestrali di lingua italiana.
Lo studente può seguire un mese di corso (modulo) o più mensilità.
Ciascun modulo mensile ha una durata di 80 ore.
La frequenza è obbligatoria.
I corsi sono divisi per livelli A1 - A2- B1- B2- C1 - C2, secondo il Quadro Comune di Riferimento
per le Lingue. I corsi sono articolati in due diversi moduli: Moduli Linguistici di Base (MLB):
sviluppano la competenza linguistica, anche attraverso la riflessione metalinguistica Moduli
Linguistici Tematici (MLT): sviluppano le abilità linguistiche e i loro aspetti interazionali e
pragmatici. Gli studenti iscritti ai corsi di lingua (livelli B1, B2, C1, C2) possono inoltre frequentare
gratuitamente i Corsi di cultura
Placement test / test di ingresso - Ogni mese i nuovi studenti sostengono il test di ingresso il
primo giorno di ogni corso alle ore 9,00 nella sede di p.zza Rosselli
Esami finali e crediti
Attestazioni Lo studente ottiene alla fine di ogni mese 4 CFU/ECTS se supera l'esame finale di un
corso di 80 ore. Lo studente è ammesso all'esame finale se non ha più di n° 16 ore / 4 giorni di
assenza. Lo studente che frequenta anche i corsi di cultura (10 ore mensili per corso) può ottenere
un credito ogni 10 ore di lezione, al superamento dell'esame finale. Al termine del corso lo studente
riceve la stampa del suo "percorso didattico". Se lo studente richiede un "transcript" ufficiale, deve
portare una marca da bollo da € 16,00 all'Ufficio dei Corsi di Lingua italiana. Si consiglia di ritirare
il transcript personalmente prima della partenza.Se lo studente ha bisogno di una attestazione per i suoi studi universitari (nel suo paese), a
richiesta l’Università per Stranieri di Siena invia una comunicazione/attestazione direttamente
all'Università senza bolli e costi aggiuntivi da parte dello studente.
Diplomi Con i Livelli C1 e C2 è possibile conseguire il Diploma di I e II grado in Lingua e Cultura
italiana se in aggiunta ai Corsi trimestrali di lingua (240 ore) si seguono anche i Moduli Culturali e
si superano i relativi esami. Per ottenere il Diploma di I grado è necessario frequentare: un corso
trimestrale di lingua italiana e le ore di corso trimestrale di cultura italiana. Per ottenere il Diploma
di II grado è necessario frequentare: un corso trimestrale di lingua italiana e le ore di corso
trimestrale di cultura italiana.

CORSI DI CULTURA
Tutti gli studenti stranieri iscritti ai corsi ordinari possono frequentare gratuitamente i corsi di
cultura italiana che si svolgono nel pomeriggio. I corsi sono tenuti in lingua italiana. Gli studenti dei
corsi ordinari di lingua italiana dei livelli C1 e C2, per conseguire il diploma di I e II grado, devono
integrare i corsi ordinari di lingua frequentando i Moduli di Cultura (MC), attivati dal Centro
Linguistico nel periodo. Gli studenti dei livelli B1, B2, C1 e C2 possono sostenere l'esame finale. Il
superamento dell'esame dà diritto al riconoscimento dei CFU/ECTS.
Corsi per adolescenti
Prezzo studente singolo € 400 – per 80 ore di lezione
Solo per gruppi: € 350 (80 ore di lezione) - € 240 (40 ore di lezione)
Alla fine del corso, gli studenti che superano l’esame ottengono 2 crediti CFU/ECTS. 4Per studenti minorenni è richiesta la liberatoria da parte dei genitori o dal tutore.

Corsi per docenti stranieri di lingua italiana all’estero
Il corso è rivolto a docenti stranieri d’italiano che vogliono perfezionare la loro competenza
linguistica e glottodidattica. Il corso ha carattere teorico-pratico e prevede:
lezioni volte ad approfondire il sistema linguistico italiano attraverso l’
analisi di varie tipologie
testuali
incontri mirati alla presentazione delle teorie glottodidattiche più recenti.

SEDE DEI CORSI Le lezioni si svolgono nella sede di p.zza Rosselli (di fronte alla
stazione ferroviaria di Siena o nella sede di Via Pispini n° 1 (centro storico) dal lunedì al venerdì, la
mattina o il pomeriggio.
SERVIZI PER GLI STUDENTI
Gli studenti hanno accesso gratuito ai laboratori linguistici e alla Biblioteca, come ad altre attività
organizzate dal centro linguistico o da altri Dipartimenti/Facoltà. A richiesta l’Università può
organizzare il servizio di trasporto da/per l’aeroporto. Inoltre è possibile richiedere un tutor per tutto
il periodo di permanenza.MENSE
Gli studenti iscritti ai corsi di lingua italiana possono utilizzare le mense universitarie:

Per utilizzare la mensa ai prezzi convenzionati, gli studenti devono mostrare alla cassa la “tessera
dello studente” che deve essere richiesta all’arrivo alla Segreteria Studenti

Casa dello Studente – per gli studenti provenienti da paesi particolarmente svantaggiati sono
disponibili posti presso le case dello Studente durante tutto l’anno. Nel periodo estivo sono

L’Università per Stranieri dispone di una Foresteria, Villa il Pino, recentemente ristrutturata, che
può ospitare un totale di n. 61 posti letto. La Foresteria, che si trova in Via Berlinguer n. 1, dispone
di spazi comuni, come la saletta soggiorno/studio, cucina, giardino, lavanderia a gettoni, e di stanze
attrezzate per persone diversamente abili. Il servizio di Portineria si trova al piano terra
dell’edificio, ed è attivo tutti i giorni 24 ore su 24.

Il Servizio Accoglienza dell’Università organizza visite nelle maggiori città d’arte italiane (Firenze,
Pisa, Roma, Venezia ecc) e escursioni di mezza giornata o giornata intera nel territorio della
Toscana per conoscere le principali città d’arte e i paesaggi toscani: San Gimignano,
Montepulciano, Pienza, il territorio del Chianti e della Valdorcia (sito UNESCO) con la possibilità
di conoscere i prodotti eno-gastronomici tipici di questa terra.PROCEDURA PER L’ISCRIZIONE

effettuare il pagamento dell’anticipo delle tasse, del 50% dell’importo totale.

Italiana o Consolato per la procedura del rilascio del visto (se richiesto)

Italian language and culture courses
Course description
The Study Abroad program at the University for Foreigners of Siena aims to promote the study of Italian
language, culture, society and the Italian economic system through its connection with the cultural
history and the centuries-old Italian heritage.
The program does not require particular language skills. That means that also students who are not yet
fluent in Italian can enrol.
Academic activities
At their arrival students will take a placement test in order to define their linguistic level, and will attend
our monthly Italian language courses, available in six proficiency levels according to the standards of
CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
Alongside the Italian language courses, students will attend Culture Modules (focused on Italian
contemporary society aspects such as: Cinema, Theatre, Italian Cooking, Popular Traditions, Music etc.),
Opportunities for Learning Through Experience: Internship
Siena and its territory are the heart of Italian artistic, literary, linguistic, and musical tradition.
Therefore the program also includes training activities to be realised with the cooperation of
companies located near Siena and specialised in food, glassware, tourism promotion, etc.
Final credits transfer
At the University for Foreigners of Siena students will obtain 4 European University Credits (ECTS) for
each monthly Italian Language Course of 80 hours. In addition, with attendance at the courses of the
Department of the University for the Teaching and Research, students will gain from 6 to 9 credits for
each of the chosen subjects (the number of credits depend on the duration and weight of each course).
Diplomas: Students at the levels C1 and C2 may earn a 1st or 2nd degree Diploma of Italian Language
and Culture, providing that they complete the Cultural Modules (MC) in addition to the language
courses.
Class attendance is mandatory. The cumulative absences of a student must not exceed 20% of the total
hours scheduled for the course.

The University can set up some benefits for those Travel Study Chaperon who will bring a group of at
least 20 students for two weeks (or 2 scholarships for groups of at least 20 students for four weeks).

In August it is also possible to have a place in a twin room in a University Dormitory
GUEST HOUSE “VILLA IL PINO”: the Guest House “Villa il Pino” is a complex of three typical Tuscan guest
houses which can accommodate up to 60 persons (with single, twin, triple, quadruple rooms and flats).
All the rooms have en-suite facilities (private bathroom) and contain beds, desks, lamps and wardrobes.
The flats, in addition, have a private kitchenette.

Canteen
Students can have meals at the University Canteen “Mensa Bandini”, located in Via Sallustio Bandini no.
47, Via S. Agata 1 (historical center) at a reasonable price (about € 5,00 per meal).
Other services
Students are free to use the multimedia facilities and the language laboratory for self-learning, and have
free access to the services offered by the Library as well as other activities organized by the Linguistic
Center and by other Departments.
On request, the University can organize a pick-up service from/to the airport and it’s possible to ask for
a tutor for the period of staying.

THE ITALIAN LANGUAGE COURSES
Our Italian Language courses are divided into monthly sessions. Students can attend either a one-month
or a complete three-month course, or even more. Each month consists of 80 hours of classes, which
are available in the six language levels of the Common European Framework of Reference A1, A2, B1,
B2, C1, C2.
The monthly segments of the Italian language courses are organized to integrate different types of
learning modules:
- Base Linguistic Modules (MLB) give special attention to the development of linguistic and
communicative competence
- Thematic Linguistic Modules (MBT), aim to develop functional, interactive, and pragmatic
capacirties through themes of interest related to the Italian culture and language.
- Cultural Modules (MC) are offered free of charges at the levels B1-B2-C1-C2
Cultural Modules (Mc)
Only for the students attended the Regular Italian language courses - Free of charges
Objectives: Italian Culture Courses, organised in modules, have the final aim to give the
students an historical, social and artistic introduction to Italian culture. This is an important
integration to their language studies and allows them to earn academic credits from their
schools and universities abroad. The courses of Italian Culture follow the same calendar as the
Regular Courses of Italian language and are planned so as to avoid scheduling conflicts with the
Italian language lessons. Students may attend a trimester-long course or monthly segments
thereof; at the end of each month they may take a written or oral exam concerning the
material covered during classes. The courses are organized in monthly modules, each including
a total of 8/10 hours per month.Cost of our Italian Language Courses

These courses are aimed for non-native teachers of the Italian language who work abroad.

To attend the course, C2 level is required
The course has a theoretical and practical approach and it is structured as follows:
- lessons with the scope to deepen the teacher’s Italian linguistic knowledge through the analysis of a
wide variety of textual materials- seminars introducing the most recent language didactic
Additional courses
On request it is possible to organise extra courses according to the interests and needs of students
(e.g. Italian Cooking, Italian Theatre/Cinema/Music, Fashion, etc.)

payment of 50% of the total amount.
The deadline to enrol is about 30 days before the start of the course.
On request the Students Office can send at our courses the acceptance letter to the Italian Embassy or
Consulate for the request of visa.
The course fees are not refundable nor transferable

The University for Foreigners of Siena is a public university involved both in teaching Italian as a foreign
language and in scientific research activities concerning the diffusion of the Italian language and culture
all over the world.
All courses, research activities and facilities (our audiovisual and multimedia centres, IT facilities,
computer centres, linguistic and computer laboratories, and library) of the institution are located in our
highly modern building located in Piazza Rosselli 27-28, Siena, in front of the railway station.
The University for Foreigners of Siena is situated in a city that represents the essence of Italian culture
in the world. The first course of Toscana Favella (Tuscanian language) was settled here in 1588, as well
as the first Italian language course in 1917.
The University for Foreigners of Siena has adopted a quality management system in accordance with
UNI EN ISO 9001:2008 and has achieved the Certification for “Projecting and providing formative
activities for undergraduate and postgraduate level” and for the following activities: "Design and
provision of graduate and post graduate educational services"; "Courses of Italian Language"; "CILS

In addition, our language Centre has recently obtained the accreditation of EAQUALS (Evaluation &

The University for Foreigners of Siena is the first Italian University to launch an Italian MOOC (Massive
Open Online Course) named “Introduction to Italian” and destined to people with little or no prior
knowledge of Italian and interested in discovering Italian language and culture.
