Opera at the Galli Theatre: season 2022
Opera that marked a turning point in Giacomo Puccini's career, an author who, in his early twenties, demonstrates
an amazing melodic richness.
The premiere of Manon Lescaut at the Teatro Regio in Turin in 1893 was the most immediate success for Puccini,
with audience and critics ready to immediately demonstrate boundless enthusiasm and the premises for the start
of the composer's international success.
Puccini's lyric drama was inspired by a famous novel L'Histoire du chevalier Des Grieux et de Manon Lescaut,
written between 1728 and 1731 by Abbé Prévost and already the subject of several operatic transpositions,
including the version of Jules Massenet.
In the new staging conceived by director Aldo Tarabella, the main performers are the soprano Monica Zanettin
(Manon Lescaut), the baritone Marcello Rosiello (Lescaut) and the tenors Dario Di Vietri and Paolo Lardizzone
who alternate in the role of Cavaliere Des Grieux.
On the podium of the Luigi Cherubini Youth Orchestra and the Archè Choir, the conductor Marco Guidarini.
With the sets by Giuliano Spinelli, the costumes by Rosanna Monti, the choreography by Luigia Frattaroli and the
lights by Marco Minghetti, the show was born from the co-production of the Giglio Theater in Lucca, the Luciano
Pavarotti Theater in Modena, the Alighieri Theater in Ravenna and of the Galli Theater of Rimini

'Bayadere' is a ballet imbued with idealized exoticism, both in the melodramatic plot and in the aesthetics of the

In tradition, its most famous scene, the Kingdom of Shadows, appears borderline at the limit between the real and
the afterlife, where the shadows that appear are frozen in their tragic condition and the movements they perform
are ritual.
The act expresses a vision that goes beyond the context and opens up to a passage of pure movement, abstract
and lucid in its formal simplicity.
Conceived for an ensemble of very young talents, this new Kingdom of Shadows so mysteriously full of
suggestions, belongs to the exceptional times we are living in, because it refers to something lost and to
something possible at the same time, something that concerns the presence of bodies and the intertwining of their
trajectories, in a space that is no longer just a beyond but is a present that wishes to be reinvented with delicacy
and passion.

Tribute to Dante and Francesca da Rimini on the seventh centenary of the poet's death
In the year of Dante's celebrations, Rimini dedicates a rich program of initiatives to Francesca da Rimini, the most
famous and beloved literary character of the Divine Comedy who has become a universal myth. After the success
of the event “Baci dal mondo | WorldWide Kisses " on 8 March, on the occasion of International Women's Day,
and which saw students and professors from twenty-five universities on five continents connected in streaming,
cultural events continued throughout the summer in the Malatesta lands between Romagna and Marche with
concerts, seminars, study conferences, exhibitions, educational activities for schools, guided tours and much
more, all initiatives aimed at recovering attention to history, the arts, memory and, above all, for the positive
values that Francesca represents.
Eight locations between Romagna and Marche are the scene of the appointments dedicated to Francesca,
starting with Rimini, the city of Francesca, and Gradara, the castle of the myth, up to Santarcangelo, San Leo,
Montefiore, Pesaro, Mombaroccio, Mercatello sul Metauro.
Among the top appointments in Rimini in autumn the ballet 'Francesca da Rimini' by Tciakowsky with Svetlana
Zacharova, étoile of Bol'šoj, at the Galli Theater in Rimini on 25 September, the convention on The Divine
Comedies of the Malatesta family at the City Museum on November 19th, the 'Dannunziana Dinner' with music
and performed on 25 November at the Istituto Alberghiero Sigismondo Pandolfo Malatesta and the exhibition 'The
Imagined Comedy' with precious 19th century engravings (City Museum December 29th, 2021 - February 27th,
2022).
The event, conceived by Ferruccio Farina, a scholar passionate about the subject and organized by the
Francesca da Rimini International Study Center, the prestigious scientific committee with international danteans,
is part of the "Francesca 2021"

Exhibition at the City Museum of Dante's Hell, Purgatory and Paradise illustrated by famous artists
The documentary exhibition entitled 'The imagined comedy' is proposed as part of the Francesca 2021 project.
Dante's Hell, Purgatory and Paradise illustrated by famous artists, shows the birth of the 'imagined' Comedy in the
meaning of the story through images.
The exhibition collects some rare examples of ancient Comedies together with the most recent forms of illustrated
writing: from graphic novels to manga up to pop-up books. in addition the splendid lithographic plates made in
1850 by Franz Adolf Adolf Stürler complete the exhibition.

After the great success of the single 'Contatto' and, of the homonymous album, certified gold, the Negramaro are
back touring all Italy and, in Rimini, with the zero date of the Contatto Tour 2021. Instead of October the tour
starts next year in March waiting for a a larger capacity of the stadiums.
Waiting for the starting of the tour in 2021 the Negramaro performed in a live streaming on March 19th. The title
of the event is 'First Contact' and is broadcast on the LIVENow platform.

On the original score by Marc Álvarez, the sixteen dancers of Aterballetto tell the story of Don Juan in a single act.
In the choreography, capable of underlining nuances and emotions, we find all the characters of the story, from
Donna Elvira to Donna Anna to Zerlina and Masetto. The dance becomes a magnifying glass of the individual
characters and revealing the interior world of the men and women on stage in a subtle but evident way.
Even more important is the connection with contemporaneity and relevant themes appear in the background,
including the complexity of the dialogue between genres.
Through an innovative psychoanalytic and Freudian reading, Don Giovanni's relationship with the figure of the
Commendatore is rewritten, replaced by the introduction of a "Mother". And Don Giovanni becomes a human
being who probably suffered the great trauma of maternal abandonment. In every encounter with the other, the
serial lover looks for his mother and therefore cannot engage in any relationship or situation.

Rimini Marathon is the great national and international sporting event, which involves an entire city, touching the
most characteristic and evocative places and squares.
In addition to the marathon, there will be: Family Run 9 km, Kids Run of 1.8 km and the national running event,
TEN MILES over a distance of 10 miles, or 16,094m, FIDAL approved.
Also this year, the national gathering of wheelchair "pushers" will be re-proposed, or groups that make disabled
people experience the thrill of a marathon, pushing wheelchairs for all 42 kilometers.

Monjour is a "contemporary cartoon" made up of bodies in flesh and blood, guided by the irony of Silvia Gribaudi.

and comedy, between drawing and aesthetics in the relationship between performer and audience.
What is their interdependence? What is the mutual responsibility between spectator and artist? In Monjour a

International Classic Motorbike Challenge and MTI Expo
Transitalia Marathon is an international off-road motorcycle event, which allows you to relive the atmosphere of
the great rallies of the past, combined with the passion for true adventure on two wheels.
The eighth edition of this event of the International Motorcycle Federation starts from piazzale Fellini in Rimini on
Monday 26 September to arrive in Teramo on Thursday 29 September, after having crossed much of central Italy.
The event, in addition to the journey to discover new panoramas and itineraries for the participants, sees two
important innovations: the new category C1 Concept, which arises from the desire to implement the tourist
character of the event with the entrance to the most characteristic villages present within the itinerary. Then
the Village del MTI Expo, a three-day event entirely dedicated to motorcycle tourism which takes place from 23
to 25 September in Piazzale Fellini in Rimini and which sees the presence of leading partner companies in the
sector, local excellence that offer enthusiasts and curious typical local products and a full calendar of events,
motorcycle tests and demo rides.
It is possible to register for the event starting from 1 February 2022.
450 are the places available for the eighth edition (350 + 100 for the NEW Concept C1 category), 6 regions
crossed (Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, Umbria, Marche, Lazio and Abruzzo), 4 stages and over 1000 km to cover.

Mozart's masterpiece makes its debut at the Galli Theater in a prestigious staging that director Ivan Alexandre
originally created for the stages of the Drottningholm Palace theater and the Opéra Royal de Versailles.
The opera arrives in Rimini thanks to the Opéra National de Bordeaux in collaboration with the Gran Teatro del
Liceu Barcelona and the Alighieri Theater in Ravenna.
The show is proposed as a return to the origins of the playful drama born in 1787 from the collaboration between
Lorenzo Da Ponte and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
On stage an international cast where the voices of Iulia Maria Dan, Julien Henric, Leonard Bernard, Arianna
Vendittelli, Robert Gleadow Megan Marino and Leonard Bernard stand out, directed by the baton of Antonio
Greco on the podium of the "Luigi Cherubini" Choir and Youth Orchestra.
With the sets and costumes designed by Antoine Fontaine and with the evocative lighting design created by
Tobias Hagström-Ståhl, the figure of the seducer enter our imagination forever.
