     Entrance to many Italian universities requires passing a test. The entry test is the main tool in
     selecting new students for limited access programs (Medicine, Architecture) or to programs
     in which the number of students is determined by a national basis. In many of the other
     departments (Mathematics, Statistics, Chemistry, Biology, Law, Economics and Business Studies,
     Psychology, Languages, Literature, Philosophy, Health Professions), the test is still required and is
     used to determine the students’ beginning knowledge, so that gaps and deficiencies the student
     will have to remedy, can be identified.
     Scuola Leonardo da Vinci offers preparation courses for the entrance exams of Medicine and
     Architecture faculties. Participants can both improve their knowledge in specific areas covered by
     the tests as well as develop specialized language competence.
     The course is organized just as the admission tests would be, in two parts: a) general knowledge,
     logical reasoning, reading comprehension; and b) specific knowledge required by each
     department.

     Prerequisites
     To participate in the course, students are required to have good Italian/English language skills
     (minimum level B1/B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
     Therefore it is advisable, if you do not already possess the required level of Italian, to first take a
     language course before enrolling in a preparation course.

     Contents
     1. General cultural knowledge, logical and reasoning skills. The course presents all basic
     contents with reference to past years exams.
     The objective is to develop and apply reasoning skills and at the same time foster the ability
     to identify hypotheses, evidence and error in logical processes. Students practice these logical
     processes using three different themes: find the best and most effective procedures to arrive at
     the solution of a given problem; select specific information; recognize relationships of similarity
     and difference, number sequences, relations between sets of elements and semantic relationships
     between words.
     2. Knowledge in the areas of science of various departments. In lessons devoted to specific
     scientific fields, in addition to the content, special attention is dedicated to the specialized
     vocabulary. It is crucial to have a good amount of knowledge of this specific vocabulary in order
     to be able to handle the sections of the selective admissions test dedicated to these topics.

     L’accesso a molte facoltà delle università italiane richiede il superamento di un test. Il test è lo
     strumento per selezionare i nuovi studenti nelle facoltà ad accesso programmato (Medicina,
     Architettura) ovvero le facoltà in cui può entrare un numero di studenti determinato su base
     nazionale. In molte delle altre facoltà (Matematica, Statistica, Chimica, Biologia, Giurisprudenza,
     Economia e commercio, Psicologia, Lingue, Lettere, Filosofia, Professioni sanitarie) il test è
     comunque obbligatorio e serve per determinare le conoscenze di partenza degli studenti, in modo
     che possano essere individuate lacune e mancanze a cui lo studente dovrà porre rimedio.

     La Scuola Leonardo da Vinci propone corsi di preparazione ai test d’ingresso per le facoltà di
     Medicina e Architettura, nei quali i partecipanti possano sia migliorare la loro competenza
     specifica nelle aree di conoscenza oggetto delle prove, sia sviluppare la competenza linguistica
     specialistica.
     Il corso è articolato, come le prove di selezione, in due parti: a) cultura generale, ragionamento
     logico, comprensione dei testi; b) conoscenze specifiche richieste da ogni facoltà

     Prerequisiti linguistici
     La frequenza del corso richiede una buona competenza nella lingua italiana (minimo livello B1/B2
     del Quadro Comune Europeo di Riferimento per le Lingue). È quindi consigliabile, nel caso non si
     abbia tale livello di competenza linguistica, frequentare prima del corso di preparazione un corso
     di lingua.

     Contenuti
     1. Conoscenze culturali generali; abilità logiche e di ragionamento. Durante il corso vengono
     presentati i contenuti fondamentali facendo riferimento alle prove preselettive degli anni passati.
     L’obiettivo è sviluppare ed esercitare la capacità di ragionamento e al tempo stesso, la capacità di
     individuare assunzioni, prove ed errori nei processi logici. Gli studenti si esercitano su tre differenti
     tipi di quesiti: trovare le migliori e più efficaci procedure per arrivare alla soluzione di un problema
     dato; selezionare specifiche informazioni; infine, riconoscere rapporti di similitudine e differenza,
     sequenze numeriche, relazioni fra insiemi di elementi, rapporti semantici tra parole.
     2. Conoscenze nei settori scientifici delle varie facoltà. Nelle lezioni dedicate ai settori
     scientifici specifici, oltre ai contenuti, si presta una particolare attenzione al lessico specialistico,
     dal momento che è fondamentale avere una buona conoscenza di tale vocabolario per poter
     affrontare la sezione della prova selettiva dedicata a questi argomenti.
